The prepped wood strips are cut on various saw (miter, scroll, table) to create a desired pattern, coming together like a puzzle. Each individual piece is stained/painted if needed and then glued & nailed to a plywood backer. Once dry, excess that overhangs the backer is cut off on the table saw. Lastly, the piece is framed & coated in a clear lacquer for protection.

When using the scroll saw, either a paper template is temporarily attached to the wood or a pattern is drawn by hand. The wood is then steered by hand through the saw blade, following the pattern lines.
